8 Sweet Months

How is this sweet boy already 8 months old? I know I say this every month, but TIME IS FLYING.

What happened during his eighth month?

We grew more interested in music and all things loud! We go to babygarten at the local library pretty much every week. They read stories, sing songs, and have play time. It is great (and free)!
We also became much more interested in books!

We "read" them, touch and feel them, and chew on them of course!

We still have our weekly play group! The babies are getting so big! They are learning to play together and noticeably pick up each other's habits. It is so fun to watch them learn and grow. Having a wonderful group of lifelong mommy friends definitely helps this SAHM.

We aren't sure about the swing yet... maybe next month..

We love playing with our dog! We share our toys with her and our food (even though we shouldn't).
Exploring is now a playtime must, especially if it involves taking things off the coffee table! Mommy has her hands full (daddy too).
I like to try to feed myself. I am also eating finger foods now, such as:
  • Pineapple
  • Pears
  • Chicken Nugget Pieces
  • Potatoes
  • Noodles
  • Beans
  • Cheese
  • and so much more!

Bath time is now:
  • Splash Time
  • Stand Up Time
  • Climb Over Toys Time
  • Chew On Everything Time
  • Giggle Time

I am ....

  • Crawling super fast
  • Pulling myself up on everything
  • Walking when someone holds my hands
  • Screaming and yelling when I am frustrated or no one is paying attention (oh this is a fun one)
  • Tearing up grass, paper, and anything else I can think of
  • Climbing over everything
  • Giggling all the time
  • So happy and sweet
  • Loving towards my dogs
  • Giving kisses and cuddles like crazy
  • FULL OF ENERGY

6 months old ... or Beckett's half birthday!

1/2 of one year....

6 months....

I. CAN'T. EVEN. BELIEVE. IT.

I feel like I say this every month, but time DOES fly! My big boy is growing like a weed! We don't have his six month appointment until the 22nd, but I stepped on the scale wihtout him and then with him, so I am figuring he is about 17 lbs...

He loves eating everything and anything ... except peas! :) So far he likes...

  • Avocados
  • Bananas (even in little finger food bites)
  • Green beans (a favorite)
  • Apples
  • Squash
  • Oatmeal (mixed with pretty much anything)
  • Sweet potato
  • Pears
  • Peaches
  • Apple, Banana, Strawberry combo
  • Rice Puffs in sweet potato and apple cinnamon flavors
  • Tater tots (in small pieces of course)
.......and anything he can try to swipe off my plate :)

He is sitting up so well now and loves playing on the floor with his toys, and Bella's tail. :)

This purple sea lion is his absolute favorite toy!

He had four BIG firsts during his sixth months (among many others):
  1. Went to Frying Pan Park and encountered farm animals. He loved the sheep and the rabbits the most.
  2. He rode in the shopping cart like a big boy.
  3. He sat in a high chair at Panera like a big boy.
  4. He went to the community swimming pool.

He loves interacting with other babies now and has play dates at least once or twice a week. . .
He goes to stroller strides with mommy (a workout routine .. google Fit4Mom Ashburn .. it is great)!

He aged out of his SwimKids swim lessons (tear)

He is SO close to crawling! He rolls constantly and can push himself off and scoot just a little. I am sure he will be all over the place soon enough. :)

He takes two big naps: a morning nap for about 1 - 2 hours and an afternoon nap for 2 - 3 hours. Some evenings he takes a cat nap for about thirty minutes (during which time Jeff and I actually try to eat this thing called dinner). He goes to bed around 7:30 or 8 and wakes up between 4 am and 6 am to eat. Then he goes back to bed until about 8 am. I am so thankful he loves to sleep in because I am definitely not a morning person!

5 months old

I can't believe my little man is 5 months old!!

What happened during his fifth month?

He started eating solids! He is one hungry, hungry hippo!

He loves green beans, sweet potatoes, bananas, and oatmeal!
He rolls from front to back and back to front, but would rather try to crawl!

He is over 15 lbs and is officially in 9 month clothes! He is getting so big!

He finally is big enough for his jumper and exersaucer. He likes them for about 15 minutes a day. Then he is on to the next thing.

He can sit up in his stroller like a big. It and loved watching Bella when we go on walks.

He loves his swim lessons still and has even tried the baby pool in out backyard.

He can pretty much sit up on his own.

He has had wacky sleeping habits this month. Waking more at night. He goes to bed around 730/8 and gets up around the same time in the morning, but ears once a night. He also wakes up for his paci at night. That thing drives mommy and daddy crazy. Hopefully, he will soon be able to pop it back in his mouth!

Anything and everything goes in his mouth. No teeth yet, but he seems to be teething like crazy!!!

We are more and more in love with this little man. He is so sweet! I can't wait to see what the sixth month holds!

3 Months Old!

How time flies! This little peanut is three months old now!
He has changed so much!

He loves to go on walks and look up at the trees. . .

He takes naps in his crib now...

He started baby swim lessons, where he is learning to kick his legs, float on his back, and enjoy the water...

He absolutely loves his elephant...

He still doesn't love tummy time, so he rolls from his stomach to his back.. he can also roll from his back to his side..

He LOVES to sit up right and normally sits in his seat while mommy and daddy eat dinner...

Bella has realized he is staying and now tries to play with him. She also greets him with lots of kisses and a wild tail..
He is super chatty ...
He has learned to grab his toys and hang on!

He likes hanging out with his baby friends . . . they have a lot to talk about..

Our First Week

We made it! We all survived our first week!

Some highlights.....
We came home safely. He loves to sleep in his carrier and In the car, which is good because we had a couple rough nights and ended up driving him around one night until he could calm himself down. :/

Bella met her new sibling. Bella loves to lick his head and checks on him when he cries. She has been really good with him!

Jeff gave me a gorgeous "push gift"

Jeff and I took our little guy for his first check up. He did drop weight, so we saw a lactation consultant this week and we ended up switching pediatricians, as we didn't have the best experience. Blah!

We went on our first family walk. Yay for fresh air!

I'm tracking my postpartum body... Getting there. Can't wait to really work out in 5 weeks!

These two are twins... So serious ..

We had a long week, but I think we are starting to adjust. Lack of sleep is hard, breast feeding isn't the walk in the park I thought it would be, but we are working on it! We have ranged from moments of "we love him so much we don't want want to put him down" to "what did we get ourselves into." I am told this is normal. :) Praying for patience and some sort of sleep during week two!
